Terms of Service
These terms are the basic rules for using Proto, a computational biological design research preview.
About Proto
Proto is operated by the Laboratory of Evolutionary Design. By using Proto, you agree to these terms.
Proto is an evolving research preview. Features, models, data formats, access, and availability may change.
Your responsibilities
Keep your account secure and submit only content you have permission to use. You are responsible for activity and third-party charges associated with accounts or services you connect to Proto.
Do not use Proto to:
- Design, optimize, or enable harmful biological systems or activities.
- Break the law or violate another person's rights.
- Disrupt the service or gain unauthorized access.
- Share credentials or impersonate another person.
Your content and connected services
You keep any rights you already have in content you submit. You allow Proto to process that content as needed to provide the actions you request. You are responsible for having the necessary rights and permissions.
Connected services and third-party software remain subject to their own terms, fees, licenses, and privacy practices.
Outputs and risk
Sequences, structures, scores, predictions, and other outputs are computational proposals. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, unsafe, or unsuitable for your purpose. Proto does not provide medical, clinical, diagnostic, regulatory, or biosafety advice. Independently review and validate outputs before synthesis, testing, publication, or other real-world use.
Availability and contact
To the extent permitted by law, Proto is provided “as is” and “as available.” Proto may contain errors, be unavailable at times, or be unsuitable for your intended use. Questions can be sent through the feedback page.
